Faking It

These are some shots taken with a Kodak Brownie c.1915 using Ilford xp2 film.
I shot this film over the Christmas holidays and dev'd it a few weeks ago at Uni, I was getting eager to see the positives and as I don't have a neg scanner (yet) nor any reliable friends, the best I could do was take digital shots and Photoshop then to life. I left them blue because I love cyanotype!

A taste of things to come

These are some of my toile developments for my graduate collection. I'm looking at traditional Japanese aesthetic theories such as Wabi Sabi and their relation to Zen buddhist philosophies. I've taken inspiration from nature, Zen monastic clothing as well as both traditional Japanese and English clothing i.e. the kimono, Japanese field-workers' clothing and the tailored suit.

Ma Cherie...

Dear Blogger,
I'm sure what I am about to tell you will come as quite a shock but nevertheless, I am convinced that you must have suspected something by now?! Anyway, I've been having an...affair, I suppose, with Tumblr. But really it's more like moonlighting. It's got nothing to do with love, she just has things that you don't! You have great things that she lacks too of course and it's for that reason that I don't want us to loose what we've built over the past few years – so maybe you should just come and see me and Tumblr and we'll menage, it'll be so worth it, I promise.
I can't deny, I've neglected you recently and taken you for granted; for that I am sincerely sorry but you have to understand, one just wasn't enough to feed the addiction!

Yours Truly
